The Phamaceutical Society of Nigeria rejects in its entirety the appointment Pharmacist Ahmed Mora as it calls on the federal government to immediately terminate his appointment as the chairman of the pharmaceutical council of Nigeria.
The call was contained in a statement signed by the national secretary of PSN, Pharm. Emeka Duru, during a protest against the appointment of pharm Mora by the minister of health Dr. Osage Ehanire as the Chairman of PCN.
Pharm Duru said Mora who has a dented image can not direct the affairs of the council. That presently he is on the Roll of Dishonour of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) after being stripped of the Fellowship of the PSN, which subsequently led to the automatic suspension of his Membership of PSN since 2009.
The PSN also questioned how he became professor of clinical Pharmamacy when he only has a Ph. D in Management.
Another reason why the PSN is not in support of his appointment is that there is evidence Pharm. Mora falsified, to his personal advantage, some existing Pharmacy and Drug laws which certainly is not in the Public interest
Pharm. Duru alleged that his exit as Director of Pharmaceutical Services in Kaduna State, was do to incompetence and sharp practices.
Reminding the Federal Government of its anti-corruption mantra and the dire need to halt the unwholesomeness at PCN, the PSN maintains its call on the Presidency and its full apparatus to immediately remove Pharm. Ahmed Mora as Chairman of the PCN.
